(robin) in the north bay... some people had to use boats to get around because of the flooding. kron 4's j.r stone shows us the conditions in forestville ... where he discovered the difficulty of trying to get around the area. busy night for emergency crews. i just saw some of those crews speed by me with their lights flashing and two boats. unfortunately if i change locations i lose the signal so staying put right now. the video we're still seeing out here is intense. this drone video was shot on a road that i tried to take to
4:05 am
get here. according to gps the road was open but you can see here it certainly was not open meaning i had to turn around and find an alternate rout.the next video on here comes from richard howell in forestville. he tried to leave the home where he was and got his vehicle stuck so now he's stuck at that house. from his angle you can look down and see all of the other homes that are under water in many cases. some of the water reaching up to the windows as well. the final video comes from bonnie renfro she lives right on the russian river and the water is below her deck. wild stuff. earlier today on kron on we talked with someone in guernville whose neighbors were rescued and a store owner in monte rio who was staying open.in forestville i was talking with a guerneville resident tonight who took some pretty good shots from his roof in guernville. he was hit by the floods back in the 90's and said that his house was raised and remodeled with fema money so the flood water is actually below them now.

in forestville, j.r. stone kron 4 news. 4 news. 4:07 am
ponding on the shoulder.the slide is right beneath a home up on crestview way....i've been told by crews working here that home itself has been checked by engineers who have determinted that it's stable.....the slide happened during last week's wet weather and for the past two days a landscape construction company has been doing a lot of work to try and stablize the hillside..take giants sheets of plastic, 6 mm thick 40 x 100 so they're tricky to deal with in the wind and rain had about 15 guys, 500 sandbags about 10,000 feet of rope just saw a star for the top and work your way down methodically and safelythey did all this in the storm conditions...because they were trying to keep more water from getting on the hillsideit could certainly slide a lot more if that 4 inches of rain yesterday got on it and you can see there is been a little bit of a slide underneath that i walked up to investigate so we're gonna have to spend some time re-sure of the sandbags make sure the wind doesn't get
4:08 am
under the plasticas an extra precaution the crews are going to use these long metal bolts to underpin the back deck.....here's the view of what it looks like above the slide. the woman who lives in the home says she feels confindent in teh work being done to keep her home safe....she says she feels like one of the lucky ones. maureen kelly kron4 news.
